Pimbolas: Chaos and Fun for Up to 4 Player

for Up to 4 Player

Pimbolas launches on July 16 for Steam, delivering a fully arcade-inspired take on one of the world’s most popular tabletop games.

Developed by the Brazilian studio Nano Knight Studio, the game transforms traditional foosball matches into fast-paced, unpredictable battles filled with unexpected moments, where strategy, skill, and chaos come together from start to finish.

Check out the game’s trailer below:

From a Game Jam to a Full Game

The idea for Pimbolas was born during one of the team’s internal game jams. Shortly before the event, one of the programmers had played foosball for the first time and suggested bringing the experience into the digital world—but with a much more arcade-style approach.

The prototype quickly became the studio’s favorite project and eventually evolved into the game launching this July.

According to the developers, the goal was never to recreate traditional foosball, but to create a fun, accessible, and unpredictable experience that can be enjoyed both solo and with friends.

No Two Matches Are Ever the Same

Pimbolas is easy to learn, but full of possibilities. Every match can feel completely different thanks to the many combinations of arenas, modifiers, and power-ups.

Players can enjoy fast-paced matches featuring:

  • Giant balls
  • Square balls
  • Explosive bombs
  • Fireballs
  • Ice balls
  • Giant planets
  • Unusual objects, such as coconuts and crabs

In addition to local multiplayer for up to four players, Pimbolas also features an Arcade Mode against the CPU, where players can unlock new characters, items, and challenges as they progress.

Lots of Content and Plenty of Fun

In addition to all the elements that make matches fast-paced and fun, the game also features:

  • Unlockable characters
  • Themed arenas
  • Dozens of modifiers and power-ups

Because of this, the game offers unique matches, significantly increasing fun and replay value.

According to “Baptixta”, Game Designer of Pimbolas:

“The goal was always to create a game that is easy to learn, but hard to put down. Whether playing alone against the CPU or gathering friends in local multiplayer for up to four players, the idea is to deliver quick, competitive matches full of unexpected moments for everyone.”

Brazilian Football Inspired by Great Party Games

Launching a game inspired by the most popular sport in Brazil during a period when football is once again gaining global attention has a special meaning for the team.

According to “Baptixta“:

“Pimbolas is a tribute to the competitive and casual spirit present both in football and traditional foosball, aiming to deliver a fun experience for Brazilian players as well as international audiences.”

Among the main inspirations for the project are titles such as Boomerang Fu, Mario Strikers, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, and Mario Tennis, combining elements of sports, party games, and fast-paced arcade action.
